Firstly I wanted to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has downloaded the game so far and an especially warm thanks to those providing feedback and donating (and helping me catch typos!) You are all making the dream of Steel Hearts possible and I can't share my appreciation enough! If you're digging the game so far, spread the word or leave a rating! Let's see how far we can keep this release momentum running ~

EXCEED THE HORIZON

Here's a little banner I hurriedly threw together for Steel Hearts' first Cross-Over MEC: The Gawigawen! Crashing in from the Kuiper Belt, Bakunawa Armasan's masterpiece originates from the Meka TTRPG Maharlika. Maharlika was hugely influential on Steel Hearts, especially in the way it adds gravitas to its naming conventions. Definitely give it a look!

Now a bit more housekeeping...

VERSION ZERO.1

Just a few days in and Version Zero has had its first major balance pass. I may have stayed up til 5 a.m. to get everything just right, but I'm sure there'll be more passes to come. The biggest change that's arrived is to the MEC Perk Tree. Override (which formerly bumped your Max Possible Amplify to 8) has now been replaced with Overclock (Which gives you +2 Dice per Amplify instead of +1). This puts it more at parity with Aim Assist, and also untethers it from requiring Unshackled to get the most out of the perk. Let me know what you all think!

You'll also find a few new surprises in the Steel Hearts Zip folder! Namely that the first Kitbashing (Homebrew) Sheet has now dropped: This Blank Mechanics Shop Sheet gives you a matching template to write in your own new MEC Classes to add to your Mechanics Shop. I can't wait to see what kinds of MECs you all start making!
